Salix sepulcralis ‘Chrysocoma’ – Golden Weeping Willow
The weeping Willow is a classic garden plant in the British garden and this golden version is a stunning medium sized tree. It will love a nice sunny position and its numerous arching golden yellow branches will light up any garden when caught by the light. As the spring begins this deciduous plant will produce bright yellow green lanceolate leaves that turn glossy green as the summer sets in. Yellow catkins may also be produced. The golden yellow of its leaves feature again in the autumn before leaving its beautiful weeping shape to be enjoyed through winter. This Willow grows on all well-draining soils and when planting give a thick dressing of compost around the plant repeating this practice in following springs. If you are lucky enough to have a pond in your garden then this tree reflecting in the water is the perfect partner for its banks. Planted as a specimen tree cited in a lawn is also a powerful way to display this plant.Photo is of a mature plant. Supplied in approx.
